Chase Plummer from Maryland-Baltimore County has been selected for StatSheet's America East Player of the Week for February 4th. StatSheet's America East Freshman of the Week is Albany's Peter Hooley. Finally, Albany's Gary Johnson has received StatSheet's America East 6th Man of the Week. Plummer registered 60% shooting, 4.5 assists per game, and 17 points per game. The Maryland-Baltimore County junior put these numbers up in wins against Binghamton and Maine.
Plummer posted 17 points and 10 rebounds in 34 minutes in a close 61-58 win against Binghamton. That was followed by a team-leading 17 points plus an additional 5 assists in a narrow 68-67 win over Maine.
This is the first StatSheet America East Player of the Week honor for Chase Plummer. The runner-up this week is sophomore Mark Nwakamma from Hartford. Honorable mention goes to junior Gary Johnson from Albany. Alasdair Fraser finished fourth and was the highest ranking player from Maine.
StatSheet America East Freshman of the Week: Albany's Peter Hooley
Peter Hooley played an average of 30 minutes as a starter for Albany. He bested all America East freshmen in assists (5.0 per game). In a 65-49 loss to Stony Brook, Hooley topped the Great Danes in scoring and rebounding with 17 and 5 respectively. Following that in a massive 79-46 win against Binghamton, he dialed up 7 points and 7 assists.
Peter Hooley has won the StatSheet America East Freshman of the Week an astounding 3 times. Jameel Warney from Stony Brook gets runner-up. Honorable mention goes to Jordan Reed from Binghamton. The highest ranking freshman from Maine was Shaun Lawton who finished 6th.
StatSheet America East 6th Man of the Week: Albany's Gary Johnson
Junior Gary Johnson, a 6-6 reserve forward, averaged 19 minutes over the two games for the Great Danes. In the loss to Stony Brook, Johnson led the way for the Great Danes with 5 rebounds and added 66% shooting. During the win against Binghamton, he racked up 5 rebounds and 3 steals.
This is the first StatSheet America East 6th Man of the Week honor for Gary Johnson. Wes Cole, a sophomore guard from Hartford, is runner up. Anthony Mayo, a junior forward from Stony Brook, earns honorable mention. Maine has yet to win StatSheet America East Player of the Week.
